With our new in-home respiratory treatment service, our mobile team can now help anyone suffering from sleep apnea. Our staff will travel to your home to carry out a polysomnography (sleep test) which is required to diagnose sleep apnea. We will then be able to guide you through the steps necessary to treat your condition.
Sleep apnea is a serious problem that can have serious health consequences in the long run. With Clinique GOTM, you’ll be able to benefit from our approach and in-home services to treat your sleep apnea!
Why sleep apnea needs to be treated
Sleep apnea is a common condition. In fact, about 25% of male adults and 10% of female adults suffer from sleep apnea. However, most people with sleep apnea have not been diagnosed with this condition, which puts their health at risk. Untreated sleep apnea can increase the risk of heart disease and stroke and increase the frequency of accidents caused by a lack of sleep.

Need a prescription? Our physician can help!
You need a medical prescription to undergo a polysomnography. Fortunately, Clinique GOTM has a physician on staff who can travel to the location of your choice for a consultation. This service is also available by telemedicine which makes it a lot easier for you to get a prescription.
A sleep test in your home
With your prescription in hand, you can contact Clinique GOTM to book your polysomnography. Generally, you won’t have to wait very long for this test. On the day of your test, a respiratory therapist will travel to your home with the polysomnography device required. They will explain how it works and how the test will be carried out. At night, you’ll simply use the device to record your sleep parameters. All while sleeping in the comfort of your own bed!
Once the sleep test done, our team will pick up the device and your results will be analyzed by a respiratory therapist who will transmit them to a pneumologist. The pneumologist will be the one to assess whether or not your condition requires monitoring.
If needed, you will be quickly referred to a pneumologist
If your sleep test is positive and you suffer from sleep apnea, a pneumologist will have to physically evaluate you before determining the treatment that’s right for you. Treatment often includes the use of a CPAP machine, a device that is specifically designed to prevent sleep apnea.
An appointment with a pneumologist must be done in person and cannot take place at your home. However, if you call upon our team, we guarantee that you will be able to consult with a professional within a reasonable amount of time. You’ll quickly get the treatment you need and therefore minimize the risks on your health.
Contact your insurance company
Many private insurance companies will fully or partially reimburse the costs of a sleep test and a CPAP machine. However, before calling upon our mobile services, we recommend you ask your insurance company about their policy. Keep in mind that an evaluation from a pneumologist is covered by the RAMQ and is free of cost.
