The current pandemic has disrupted many aspects of our lives and has forced many of us into social isolation. In addition, for those who were already coping with anxiety, the uncertainty of the situation and how it will evolve may cause further stress. Faced with this, the team at Clinique GO\u2122 wanted to let its clientele know that it is there to provide support through a range of mental health services: psychology, social work and psychoeducation.<\/p>\n

The importance of not neglecting mental health<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Professionals in the field are already reporting an increase in demand for mental health services, including addiction counselling. In addition, it should be noted that many people who already had more “fragile” mental health prior to the pandemic (anxiety disorders, depression, etc.) and who were benefiting from follow-up, particularly in psychology, have seen their mental health suspended.<\/p>\n

In addition, the confinement may have led to a resurgence of tension for some couples, financial insecurity for some individuals, or an inordinate fear of the virus for others. While most people are able to control this “cocktail of feelings” and cope with it on a daily basis, for others it significantly affects their functioning and ability to carry out everyday activities.<\/p>\n
